Competition is our lifeblood. Unfortunately when you allow guilds to farm content for 6 months it becomes less of a competition on "who can clear it first" and more of a competition of "who can zone in first on release day" as the sheer amount of gear available trivializes the content released. Ex: Cthun being killed less than 4 hours after launch on ED, or even more relevant I suppose: Nefarian dying to 5+ guilds within 4 hours of launch on ED.

We don't get cold feet, just hot heads.

If you put competition in this way, you could still organize with other top guilds and start BWL / AQ40 / NAXX at the same time so it will be more like a speed run competition since months have passed from last content and ppl are overgeared, so as you say who get in first, get the first kill.

Or even better, if you like that kind of things you should wait, if there will ever be, for a private server with all content available at release.

Anyway, this will work just with BWL and AQ40 since clearing the whole Naxxramas at the 1st run on release day it's a bit more complicated.

I haven't read the whole topic, just the few starting posts, and some from the end.
I can understand you, and I agree with you guys. I'm not a kid who now wants to start to parrot like "omg it's free",
but I have one simply question.
On which private server were your experiences better? I played on there is Molten (Now Warmane) which has tons of donors, they make good money with the server, and still a classbroken, bugplaguaged, unstable fukkin shit server. (For example they haven't fixed potion, and other consumables cd bug for like 1,5 year now, 60% of prof items are not usable, but the worst that some classbugs never could be really fixed)
I played on Arena Tournament, was pretty fun, and then it become unstable for long weeks...
Tried Heroes WoW, played like 30 min, and then I could never login again with my account, with no bans, no reasons...

On Molten I was a part of a "hardcore" pvp guild (If hardcore ever existed after TBC), and exactly the same thing (server issues) ruined the guild. Players startted to leave becuz only 3 bg's are working, or becuz they went mad on affli locks swapping without cd trough the whole map, or when Druid+Warlock combo with Symbiosis could make 3 caps on WSG in like 1 minute, becuz druids didn't have range limit on using teleport...

So I see your point but I think it will always end the same way, unless you go play retail, which has bugs as well. (Like one of my mates got 2 items from Ashran where he should have gotten 1, he told the GM, so they replies that he can keep the item as he was honest about telling them the bug....)
I don't know you guys, I don't know the devs either, but I don't you will find a serverm which is well populated, not buggy, and free and stable... Maybe not stable 100% of the time, and yes we have lags, delay, sometimes dc. But it has 7k players... Not sure but i doubt that Blizz had a 7k+ populated server back in 2004, as we could freeze out retail servers going to raid SW with 4 full raid groups. What was more annoying when I played AV for like 6 hours (one run) and right before we could fukkin end it, the server dies (yes retail) You think we got any honor? Or when Onyxia simply walked into the wall, we couldn't loot, and GM's did nothing... Or when I was suspended for 3 days becuz I was killing ally in moonglade, staying on a fence, where guards didn't aggroed me, but aggroed anyone who attacked me, as they were in their range, but I wasn't. Got no warnings, just 3 days suspend.... And this all happened on retail, which i payed for.
So my point is that, I think you expect a bit too much from devs. This server is actually great (for me), greater then any other in the past 7-8 years (including retail), but if you disagree, why don't you guys then go and take a break? Maybe get back after 1-2 months, check if anything is better or not. Well yes then you will kinda lose the "PvE competition" among guilds, and won't be first on killing C'thun or stg, still could be a great experience.

Anyway i wish you find a server that fits your expectations, and is a better chance of playing, but I doubt that you'll find any, specially not vanilla.

Clearly your gbank sent all the herbs to someone else and then deleted his character manually.

I wasn't bothered all that much about bugs, just liked playing with my guildies. Nos just started to show it wasn't the server that was promised - if I go to watch Star Wars I don't wanna end up with Gone with the Wind. That's just how Grizzly rolls.

No one in Grizzly got banned for AV, it just highlighted how the devs and gms are alienating their playerbase. Silence for months, then bans for and blame for their shit scripting and lack of development.

Good luck in BWL for the server firsties, I really hope none of you get banned in there for their bugs, especially if you take time out to test.

I also hope, if anything comes from this thread is that the devs stop being complacent because of population. I watched ED drain away pretty quickly. Sort your shit out and start taking more care of the people you brought here.
