Warrior - end game - not raiding

Hey guys. I've always had a fantasy of a level 60 fury warrior; farming the mats for my Lionheart helm, dual wielding and smacking baddies. Anyways, end game I won't have time to consistently raid and I know warriors are very gear dependant. I just want to do 5 mans and run around the world and world PvP and what not. Can warriors be good at this even without gear? I know it would be smart to pick another class that's less gear dependant, but for sentimental reasons, I'm stuck on a warrior. Is it hopeless to try and world PvP without raid gear/PvP reward gear as a warrior??
If so, what class is best for this?

If you are stuck on warrior as you say, why not go out & just do it? You will probably have fun. The most fun wins.

I think you just with the Crit based pre-raid gear can smash faces easily.

You don't need to raid. Farm Arcanite reaper, go engineering and you should wreck. Buy PVP gear later and wreck more.

Right now, all of your best gear options come from dungeons anyways. Get a decent PvP rank and you'll have better gear than people who only raid.
