Dungeons or Questing?

So me and a couple of friends will be leveling up together when the server comes out, I was wondering if dungeon spamming would be good since a lot of people will be playing and killing all the mobs during the first few weeks.

If you are unhindered, questing beets instancing. Instancing could be done if all quests are camped by players all time and you don't like grinding levels.

I'd guess that it's only gonna be a day or two that will be packed in the starting areas but once you are level 20-25 it will ease up and people will have a a level spread.

I'd recommend to do instances on the basis of quests rather than farms. Then you also get a chance on getting some good gear.

Come on ppl, don't make it a leveling race as it is in retail wow right now.
The best part about vanilla was the social layer.
I recall that we have spent a lot of time finding groups, travelling to dungeon, talking in party chat.
The maxed out xp/h rate was not that important back then.

Having mobs killed won't be as big an issue as you fear. We'll have a few hundred players, maybe 500 at the most, which will thin out between brackets within mere days.

Dungeons are great if you can get the groups. But it's a different era in Classic. You have the travel time, difficulty, and quests to consider. It was a different era. Dungeons were not the primary method of leveling back then that they were turned into with the DF teleport BS; nor were they intended to be. Blizzard originally intended for you to actually go out into the world and travel, hence why they put the dungeon quests all over the place, some of which even required chains outside the dungeon before leading into them.

Btw, no summoning stone teleport. That was BC. I hope one of you is rolling a Mage.

Will never understand why blizzard thought it was a good idea to remove this concept. I always thought it was fun to run around in the world doing lots of different pre-qs to pick up for example ZF quests. Also love the idea of acquiring the mallet to summon the hydra. So much fun if you were able to pick up all the quests and complete them in one run.

Come to think about it... I know this is a cliché at this point but... did blizzard destroy their own game deliberately? Yes.. Vanilla had some flaws and some of them were fixed in BC but that's also when they decided to remove a lot of important stuff. Oh and don't get me started on LFD/R

they, as well as too many other AAA game devs these days, are not only doing it for money instead of for the sake of making a good game, but as well Blizzard is currently in it for short-term profit over long-term profit, and was that way since at the latest some time during cata, but likely some time before that

currently they're milking WoW for every last penny that its worth

Not exactly. I see the relation but I mentioned Mage for the portals, which is generally more useful than the Warlock summon.

Yes but also most of us want to get ready to raid and not spend so much time getting ganked by 30+ other people all the time :D
