Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Being that mangos is open source and only an open source core of WoW, would it be possible to do something truly extraordinary and make new content? How difficult would it be to create a new instance? Maybe a new world boss?

With such new content, one could make something that more holds to the warcraft 2/3 lore and less to the nonsense being thrown out of "snowstorm" that we have today.

There are some videos on YouTube with people making some very poor and amateurish "instances" on their own private servers. So, it's possible.

How are custom instances or custom world bosses gonna help us relive true Vanilla?

We can enjoy true vanilla, and then when all content has been consumed, why not some creative and very well done new stuff that fits the lore? You know, like a private server expansion?

There is plenty of warcraft lore to go around.

There's no audience for this. You would be the only one that plays it.

What is with all the hate? I understand the idea for nostalgia, but sheesh, did not expect such closed minds.

Just taking a guess here, but I think most of us are excited that this server has painstakingly restored the true glory of Vanilla WoW.

None? I'd love this, but not on Nostalrius. Hopefully Corecraft does this during their vanilla project.

You mean to tell me you'd not be interested in new stuff using resources only from Vanilla and not even being lorebreaking, even if it offered no rewards and was just for fun? EVEN IF it was a year down the line when Naxx has already been out for a while and cleared by 6ish guilds?

That's like buying NWN1/2 and not getting playing any usermods because "I wanna experience true NWN hurr".
