Why is Nostalrius so populated?

I really like it because its so populated compared to other Vanilla servers. Will it remain like this for a while? Also what is the population like compared to the rival server Kronos?

kronos has about 1.5k peak then dips down to 500 during US times
nost has had a steady population for 3 months so its not going anywhere anytime soon

To me, Kronos isn't a good server because I'm in the US and usually when I play, the server's population will be the lowest, 500-700 ppl (ally+horde total).

Regarding Nost retaining its population, I think it should start thinking about testing and/or releasing Dire Maul or BWL. It's a little worrying how the recent patch has had no mention of whats going on with these 2 instances

I'm going to pretend you just haven't seen the announcements but they've already been testing Kazzak and Dire Maul and soon to be BWL, they invited the top 8 guilds on the server (4 alliance and 4 horde) i believe and that's been going on for the past little bit.

I am playing on nost and on kronos, what exactly is not a fact in this thread?

The numbers are quite right, Kronos rarelay peeks over 1.3k even after the dodgykebab review on weekdays but has (still) a fair amount of players in every zone.

So? Show me a screenshot of the /who command on Kronos where one faction has more than ~750 players online in the following days please.

you're very uninformed

Check out the Twinstar forums, even the players themselves say the peak is around 1.5k, and goes all the way down to 5-600 in US (AKA off) times.

They wanted to start DM testing last wednesday but as far as I know its still not being tested according to some guildmembers that got Access to the testrealm.
