Q1:
So since the dev's perform certain types of detection against apps which hook into the executable and play around with it's memory does it SweetFX and similar apps which hook into the executable and manipulate the DX API calls are "banned" or will be detected as cheats?

I've done a search on the forums and I haven't seen much info about it. I know that Nostralious enforces even stricter rules than Blizzard as they ban multiboxing, but haven't seen anything about SweetFX.

Q2:
What about built-in HID macro's which are supported by virtually any mouse and keyboard? Are we allowed to to switch mouse button 3141234 to a keyboard function say key 5? Vanilla WoW doesn't support more than 5 mouse buttons, and most of the G buttons on my Logitech g502 are not recognized unless there is a keyboard key hooked into them.
The Corsair K series keyboards which come with the any key macro functionality also use a keyboard mini driver hook even if the keys are set as default as long as you have the Corsair drivers installed.
Unless the keyboard is in "BIOS" mode, when it operates it doesn't sends standard hid key code's but something of their own design which the software translates to any keypress you have configured for that key. This can also easily be detected as "illegal" hooking if that's what the anticheat engine is looking for...
