People not buffing in dungeons?

I know it's a minor thing, but at level 36 I've noticed more people than not - won't buff you in dungeon groups.
Today in SM I asked our priest half way through the run "Why no fort buff" He said "Because it cost XXX mana"
I nicely explained to him that's why it's best for the 30 min buffer-classes to buff right at the beginning, drink your way back to full mana, then carry on. That fort buff can be the difference between living and wiping. - he didn't say a word in response.
Same goes for mage food/water. It cost them nothing, yet people have to beg for it. Back when I played, players were happy to help without having to be asked. I'm a lock. The first thing I do when we get in the instance is ask if anyone would like a healthstone.
Btw priest, my soulstone cost a lot more mana than your fort buff, but you never had to ask me for it.
Just a few pet peeves of mine. Maybe I just have bad luck in groups. But their logic, or lack-there-of just doesn't make sense to me.
