What do you do when you get Ninja-ed?

so the important question is - what can i do to help myself / to prevent myself from happening?

But the basic question is... is there any consequence for loot-stealing?

Depending on where we are in the dungeon I'll likely immediately leave and make sure to never group with them again.

A preventative measure for sure is to only play with guildmates or be the group leader yourself. I used to organize vanilla and Burning Crusade raids (for fun) in Wrath of the Lich King and I was always in charge of of everything and had a no bullshit attitude with people who would try and get an unfair advantage.

Usually kick the person or badmouth them for like a whole 5 minutes in party chat. Oh no, I lost digital loot! That item will never, ever, ever drop again, ever!

Also tell the guild that x is a ninja and to group at their own risk.
