Not sure if anyone has asked but will there be a quasi official world chat? And will it be moderated at all?

Having an official server channel "World" which can be seen from any place for a faction will implies extra moderation from the Game Master team (plus the faction it's not blizzlike during Vanilla).

This channel will not exist on the server : players will have to manage it (as Aquane said above).

step 1: create a custom chat channel, call it World

step 2: tell all the players on your faction to join it via trade chat or guild chat

there you go, you have a world chat for your faction only, no interference or stress on the devs because its all done by the players''.


As far as I know there will be no game master moderated world chat channel.

I'm curious, do the ones who create custom channels moderate them? Cause I can see a lot of headaches somewhat easily fixed.

With the anticipated population, you probably won't even want or need a "World" channel. A thousand players or more on one channel would create something unreadable.

This is not an official channel, but nothing is stopping everyone on a faction from creating one. I expect /world and /lfg to become regularly used channels right away. That second one I suggest everyone use to form dungeon groups(don't chatter in it, just post for groups).

Are we going to be able to link items on world chat? We were unable to back then but I've seen it on other servers. Even though it isn't blizzlike it isn't a big deal.

I always just /join world whenever I make a character (or hit the minimum level requirement to join it)

The answer previously was no. You know what that means? It's a private channel, and you can say whatever the fuck you want in a private channel. You can be as obnoxious as you like, and there should be no repercussions, if it's treated as a private channel.
