You are all familiar with Dungeon-BoEs (commonly called rares), lucky drops that fall from trash-mobs...
What's the general rule for these BoE-rares?

Need if you can use it and equip it right then and there, greed otherwise. That's how I roll at least.

If it vendors for more than a gold, need it. Same with BoP items. Everyone needs gold.

This is what is considered polite, however feel free to need on them and watch as people refuse to group with you after you do.

Need if you'll equip it. Greed if not. Need if you don't care about being known as a ninja looter by the entire server. People will probably post it on here.

I tend to go with this as well. I don't really care if I miss out on an item I could sell for a few gold, but I do hope the favour will get returned when I actually select Need on something.

Put out feelers beforehand. Ask the group what their takes on rare BoEs are if you all speak the same language.
If you don't do this, just wait until you see that one person need on it. If you see someone needing on the item, need roll on it as well. Most of the groups I see have need rollers with quick hands and it allows me to see if he/she can use the item before the other 3/5 of the group rolls.
If there's no stats on the item and it's a chance on hit weapon with someone need rolling on it, I automatically roll need so the player has a chance to lose the item for being greedy on a higher priority roll. The group can say I'm a ninja, but I'm the last one to roll on the item if it isn't uncommon.
As for group loot, fucking use Need Before Greed. I'm about to start doing this shit. If they need on the item with stats not in their class needs or a chance on hit, I know who to kick out of the group and blacklist.
