Nostalrius before its fame...
Posted: Thu Jun 11, 2015 1:27 amI would like to tell a story about the legendary paladin named "rv" on nostalrius, before nostalrius was "Nostalrius Begins"
About 10-11 months ago, I was searching for servers as i was getting bored of feenix,vanilliagaming, etc... I came across this beautiful scripted french server named Nostalrius. I noticed the population was very small, and that I was actually the only American (maybe even north american) at the time *note there were others before, but the server died down due to many unsuccessful changes and content being cleared with a small pop* . when i joined the server was instant 60(i believe at one time it was x1.. then eventually instant 55, and then instant 60.), and everything ingame was in french, and every player would speak french for the most part. I was lucky enough to be picked up by a guild named "Raid is Dead" i got to experience the raid scripts and thats when I instantly fell in love, and knew that no matter how bad the pop was on this server i was going to do anything to get players on and start a usa guild of my own. I made a couple videos (most very bad tbh, still on youtube lol) with the intention to impress people of the scripts on nostalrius and bring a usa playerbase to the server. Nostalrius facebook page (less than 500 likes at the time, now 7k+ maybe?) even posted my videos in hope to gather new players. A mod named "Daemon" (praying i spelt that right) would message me in game asking why i liked the server so much and wanted to know of any ideas to bring more people to nostalrius.we talked for about an hour and i told him this... "If you want nostalrius to have real population you need to start over, and advertise the shit out of it as a brand new x1 server, show off your amazing scripting, work on changing the game to english and the rest will follow" 2 weeks later the server gets shut down and i see advertisements for "Nostalrius Begins" of course i had to wait SEVERAL long months before it eventually came out, and was in shock with the beginning population.and if any of the following players are still playing that played a year ago please let me know for the amazing feels, (im a 60 mage on nos now) Skeutch, Reaper,Rewing,ytfiws, frogg, and many more.
Anyways sorry for the long unnecessary post, but I can't help but wonder if any of the mods remember this time, and remember the usa pally "rv" I could possibly be one of the reasons why all of you 10k players are enjoying this amazing server. If a mod could speak with me in message that remembers this please message me, thanks nostalrius staff, and keep continuing to kick ass
