Nostalrius, that word came up on my instant messenger when my friend gave me the link for "Vanilla wow." That precious wow what i played back in 2005 on EU Release. Between 2005-2015 my longest active wow career were definetly during the vanilla. I played undead priest on finnish raiding guild, we managed to clear all raid content before the burning crusade. Week before BC i decided to sell my account and leave WoW behind... Until i started again when BC launched. Then it was more or less On-Off subscription between BC->Warlords of draenor (i skipped MoP totally.)

During my WoW "career" there was so many experiences that i would never exchange, realm first kills, long road to leveling, getting lvl40 mount and the really expensive epic mount, new real life friends, Wife.... the list is endless. I tought i would never get that feeling again.. Until last night i started playing at Nostalrius.

I literally paralyzed infront of my monitor during the starting cinematic. *goosebumbs* All those memories came back instantly in those few minutes. It was not far away dropping a tear :D After 3H20minutes of played i got to lvl9 and oh boy i were smiling. No heirlooms, the game is actually hard, so much life on the newbie zones. If you accidentally pull 2x same level as you, you most likely die.

There was few lags and disconnects but they could not stop my interest on this, the game was like that anyways on the real servers on the beginning. :D I cant wait to see the real old school talent tree, raiding and WSG / AB.

Nostalrius, development team. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, i feel like im back at home.

ps: Feel free to add me to friends list for dungeons or questing, im playing Troll Shaman. (Yerted)

Played for a bit last night, had to pack it in early because of work, but my God.. this was the most fun I've had playing WoW, or any game in general, in years...

Social interaction makes a game that much better?!? Whoda thunk?!?! Awesome job, you guys!

Same - props to the dev team. For the first time I'm actually reading the quest text and taking my time to enjoy the process.

Not gonna stay that way though. Player power increases more than the power of mobs do with level. At my current level i could probably pull 3 or even 4 mobs of my level.

Funny how many of us are having the exact same experience right now. Never really noticed just how bad retail got until I got my old game back.

Haven't been this sucked back into game in well over 5 years.

I agree. They have watered down the game on retail so much since the beginning of Cataclysm that the game has turned sour. This is what an mmoRPG is supposed to be like. Not hard (per se), nor difficult, but a mix of both with a big side of flavor. I enjoy making my own ammo. I enjoy feeding my pet. I enjoy putting a whetstone on my warrior's sword.

It is what makes an MMORPG an MMORPG, and not just a MMOG. Thank you Nostalrius Dev Team for giving me my game back.

Now, if you will excuse me, I think my wife is drawing up the divorce papers again :P

So yeah, still going strong! Cant wait to get my hands on some good old onyxia, mc and bwl.

I started last week and i m only lv 19. I probably have about 35 hours played but i spend a lot of time in BG or doing a little bit of gold at the AH.

What i really missed about the vanilla experience is the interaction with other player. I already form group with people to do the first few quest. You have to speak with people and that something retail destroyed.

I love that server

Yes ;) This game is perfect, unfortunately Blizzard ruined it, but thanks to Nostalrius we can finally experience that good feeling we had back in 2005 :). Hope you all get to 60 or whatever your goal is.
Have a nice time
