Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Did anyone noticed this? I mean, couple of my real life friends started to play - because I had to say bunch of pretty words about our beloved server - and now it looks like I "forgot" to tell them that we're getting several DCs every single day.. Anyone knows what is going on? Why are they happening, and more important, why did they got so frequent? Thanks in advance!

Hm, Im not that sure that ddos's can cause DCs once in couple hours..

I'm noticing more frequent disconnects as well. the game is almost unplayable for me right now. I just assumed it was due to population strain or something.

Yeah, not to mention that mostly during delays, and when dcs happen', it really feels painful. Hope that anyone from staff will say anything about this.

Guys, you're starting to lose your playerbase slowly... What is going on with those DCs!? One every 2 hours?

Even if the server has DDOS mitigation, which will render almost all DDOS attacks useless after a few seconds, the attacker is still capable of making more coordinated attacks to create a sudden large burst during those crucial seconds. Which ends with the connection crashing, whether how the server itself deals with resetting the connection is beyond me. It might just restart itself, or hang for a while.

P.S: It might not be a DDOS attack.

DCs and downtime is only a part of the blizzlike experience!
But in all seriousness, vanilla had its share of DCs, this server is way larger and everything runs on a single machine. The Nostalrius staff are working on a fix for the lag/dcs (allegedly)

Its getting really annoying, I agree.

With the way the server crashed twice within an hour earlier, It looks like there's a bad script somewhere that messes with the server, or just DDOS.
