Unique BoEs

I was killing some mobs in EPL earlier today, when Myrmidon's Signet ring dropped, since I already had one in my bag (which was soul-bound) I wasn't able to loot the ring.

I've already made a thicket about this, but I just want to ask the general public, could someone loot 2 of the same unique BoE items in Vanilla, since I'm not quite sure when the "unique-equipped" function was introduced.

I don't really care so much about the money that was lost (if in fact the GM cant help me with it) I just want to know that there was nothing I could have done back in Vanilla if the same situation happened, so that I can at least have a peace of mind.

If you have an unique item in your inventory or on your character and another copy of it drops, there is nothing to be done.

next time delete your current version of that item, pick the new BoE up, send it to another char and write a ticket another day that you've accidently deleted your epic yesterday and you would like to have it back.

This thought had occurred to me, but I wasn't sure if it would be something legal or not and either way, at this point I don't need the money that much to risk getting banned from this wonderful server, I already got that ring once for free so it's all good :)

Read this.

The best thing you could have done is sold the item, go back loot the item, maybe mail it to an alt or something, then go back and rebuy the item, and if not well at least you would have gotten the vendor gold.

I tried this, but I was unfortunately too far from Light's Hope Chapel, when I got back the mob was gone :/

Go sell your bound one to vendor, go back loot, then mail it to alt, then go buy ring back.

As previously stated, I tried that, but I was way too far off from Light's Hope Chapel, had 100% Mount + Spurs + Carrot and Enchant, and still the item/mob was gone when I got back, barely made it back in time to buy the other ring back before the server went offline, it was quite exciting ^ ^
