Most played classes ?

Been playing TLK and Cataclysm for a while and wanna test vanilla. But I just can't choose myself a class.

Like i've heard that warriors are good DPS and Tanks, but they may be overplayed for that, no ?

What classes are lacking for each spot ? (dps, healing, tank) and are they lacking or just bad classes overall ?

Warrior is the most popular class in WoW - best tank and can be the best dd. Rogues and mages are next popular after warrior.
Least popular class in Vanilla - druid.

Overall, Mage/Warr/Rogue are the most played. However, Alliance side is really suffering for mages. It seems about 2/3 of the mages rolled Horde. Same goes for Warlocks.

Depending on your faction, you may want to avoid rolling a Mage/Warlock. I haven't played Horde on the server yet, but I would imagine it would be pretty damn hard to find a group as a Mage/Warlock at 60. Alliance side, people will be begging you to join groups.

For Healers, it seems the ratios are pretty balanced. Plenty of healers at 60 (enough to make it difficult to find dungeon groups as a healer, actually, at least Alliance side).

Tanks will always be the most in-demand for Dungeons, and least in-demand for Raids. If I were playing a DPS Warrior, I would spec tank at 60 and get your DPS gear, then respec.
