Images removed. gg no re

Also, I'll give 5 gold to each person on the horde side that tells me why people hate me so much on the forum when I used to be as active as AverageJoe before Zoey_Urbina started to replace me.
Requirements to receive said gold:
  • 50 words or more; more words = potential for higher gold
  • Reasonable explanation rather than "you're a fucking dick you fucking cocksucker"
  • Your horde char name

I don't get it because I wrote poems for people ( http://i.gyazo.com/d4aa52a343306711ff999f98fcb7d6cf.png ), helped with some account issues that people took to a PM ( http://gyazo.com/5ca2026d6b4671154b5c57adfae9c53e ).

Hmm.

You should be telling Steezy that. I see the sunlight for a good 12-14 hours a day. Steezy and his brother see about 12-14 hours of sunlight a month.

The password recovery implementation wasn't designed to recover an account that has been hacked/stolen. It was created to allow users who's legitimately forgotten their password. If an account has been accessed by a third party, then the blame falls upon the account owner. The account owner is solely responsible for ensuring that his account is secured by using unique passwords and usernames, a secured computer, having a safe Internet access, doesn't fall for phishing websites/emails, doesn't share or risk their account for powerleveling/gold purchasing services.

Off-Topic.

Edit, since you've done the same above me.

Hacking and phishing are not the same. Yes, you can potentially abuse the system by stealing another player's email address through a phishing site, but you have compromised your account security by logging in anywhere else than htps://en.nostalrius.org with your WoW account credentials or https://forum.nostalrius.org/ with your forum credentials. Checking the domain is the key to knowing where you are currently logging in to. The websites may be the same if you take the HTML/CSS/JS from the page, but the domain is what matters.

As the GMs cannot really go in depth on account security as they may not be allowed to work with account information, they are more like the middleman to the service. An admin can surely help you as they have both database and root (administrative) privileges on the server that Nostalrius Begins is hosted on. Having to reset your password through them was tedious and implementing a 24hr reset on the password reset function on the user control panel of https://en.nostalrius.org is just there to be a security measure. I'm not sure how it works as I haven't read up on it nor have I used it myself.... I still prefer .account password $oldpassword $newpassword $newpassword as I know I'm logged into the account at the time. No email needed, no 'bullshit'.

As for you not being able to reset your password, have you attempted to ask Viper or Daemon about your problem? If someone has logged into your account, you can ask one of them to verify you as the owner since you created the account with this IP and the person who stays logged into your account has a different IP. Worth a shot?

I turned this thread over real quick.

Depends on my mood. Generally, no.

In terms of posting in the support and suggestions forums with helpful replies, I have been slacking. I kinda just let you take it over since you seem to care more than I do these days. :)

I'm aware that hacking and phishing isn't the same thing. I just don't like to use the term "Hacking" when someone has gained unauthorized access of someones account. Hacking would require the person to actively write code to sneak past security protocols so that they can gain access and steal the required information, in this case this would be the Nostalrius server database where the account information is most likely stored. Whereas the crackers does the same thing except that they actively "disguise" themselves as a legitimate user who has access to the required files, both parties will need to decrypt the files. Phishing is just an email or site pretending to be legitimate so you essentially give them your information or infects you with Malware. I'd say that all accounts that has been stolen on Nostalrius is caused by the owner of the account, the person who failed one or more of the things I mentioned in my earlier post.

I did and I always do, and my previous response wasn't a copy&paste. It's still a proper response because according to the Terms of Use, only the account owner is permitted on the account with a few exceptions. So if you've lost access and someone else is using the account then the account will be banned given enough evidence. What you're describing as "hacked" has nothing to do with actually getting hacked. When the gmae master talked about "hack" he was referring to when a third party has gained access to their server where the usernames & passwords are stored. Which hasn't happened.

To me it seems more like that you failed to protect your account, Nostalrius refuses to clean up your mess and now you're trying to diminish their reputation by saying that "hacking" is allowed.
