Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

What's going on Nostalrius community, I got a very simple question that I'm semi struggling with. Let me give you a bit of a background first. I started playing very late BC on retail, so i primarily leveled in WoTLK. Well going from that to vanilla is a big leap in difficulty. Questing in the Barrens until my quests turn red and do able then hopping to another camp and repeating the same step just isn't too much fun at the moment, so my question for you guys is, how do you spice it up? Is it just the nostalgia that allows you to power through it? Addons? Certain music? I'm finding it difficult to level up, not because of the actually difficulty, just because of the mental exhaustion if that makes sense. Thank's in advance to anyone posting back! Play with professions. Grind out your mats. Start a savings fund for a mount.

Enjoy the leveling.. It's not meant to be done as a grind like wrath. It's not just end game. You can have a blast in dungeons, wpvp, bgs, etc.

Sure some Is nostalgia, but what I'm finding is the actual depth of the game is what's been hollow for me in retail for years. It's just gone.

Find a solid group. Make friends with them so you have good dungeon runs while you level.

Think of it as a journey. All of it can be experienced and enjoyed while leveling. If you're rushing to get to cap, you're prob going to burn. Completely diff mindset then what retail became. Run around dot 10 mobs, loot, level, yawn.

You want to have fun? Don't focus on leveling, take time to explore the world and do things that aren't just questing.

However, honestly if you are bored this early then maybe vanilla just isn't for you.

pretty much this. if you play to just get to 60 and start raiding your doing it wrong.

Everyone has a different approach on leveling. I personally hate it, and there's not really much that you can do to make it feel better. For me, nostalgia definitely helped me power through some zones. There was one time when I met this guy who was on the same quests that I was, and we did like 9-10 quests together. That did actually spice it up a little bit.

Same for me, when enter a new zone, i just ask on /1 if someone is doing same quests as i am

Its way funnier to grind in group

When all quests are red / or i keep getting gank by opposite faction, i just do BGs or dungeons, helping lower level friends ...

Dont hesitate, to do chain quest, some are really funny, vanilla is not all about grinding fast as possible like retail

It is an immense chore, i'm currently at lvl 46 and every lvl you need more and more xp, so things just get worse. I'm getting to a point I don't even know why I'm even playing this game. I have 2 lvl 15 alts with 150/150 professions but I really dread the idea of having to level those to 60 too.

But if you make it to 60, you will be a true hero. Survival of the fittest, the plebs won't make it.

I make it fun by getting tipsy and i try to only play when I have rested xp.

Try to do the instance quests, they give tons of xp. I also tend to be less fixated on my xp bar when I'm in an instance.

Mind you I'm a vanilla veteran, but having only leveled a char to 60 on retail. Raided 2 years on a x12 server and only got to 52 on ED because it was so shit. So the endgame is certainly worth it.

Why are you playing an mmo if you don't enjoy building your character?

I have an absolute blast doing quests with friends in RL as well as meeting other players in game. They made the difficulty so you actually want help from others around you even if it simply speeds things up. I keep professions consistent with my characters level and participate in world pvp any chance I get.
