my question for the admin wizards (256 sound exe)

hello and i have found a client exe that will do 256 sound channels and that is more then the dumb 12 we have now...but i do not want to get a ban from the ban detector ? i very want to use this and i found this post on kronos (the other team's server) forum where a gm try it and aint get banned by the detactor and he says u can all use it: http://forum.twinstar.cz/showthread.php ... post743384

The anti-cheat is looking for exactly something thats pre-defined by devs. Such as signature of a file that is known multihack or a change in certain game functions or memory areas of wow.exe.

It does not ban you for anything which it is not especially looking out for. Assuming that you are injecting a sound files into wow.exe, they can't check the integrity of your wow.exe file from server side. They can only detect changes which the injection is possibly making as you play the game (Wallclimb, etc.).

Anything that is not in the scope of unacceptable actions, is basically allowed by the anticheat. So unless they are banning for editing sounds, you shouldn't have any issues.

But this is private server, no logic applies here as the devs are probly underaged.. so use at your own risk.

Also FYI, check the page 3 of that thread you linked. The person was not banned for having modified game exe, but for hacking instead. as the admin said, they were completely seperate issues.

no no lol i mean a new wow.exe that will let u (the player) hear 256 sound at one time since because this game will only let u hear 12 ?? was not a setting until wow:the tbc so there are no other way for this

u can do sounds very easy lol just drag it to data folder and no edit game files needed and soon i will release my good sound pack

I was talking exactly about that modified .exe client which enabled 256 sounds at the same time, instead of only 12 first/nearest sounds. Unless they (devs) have flagged that specific wow.exe you will not get banned for it.

However that guy which you linked was caught in hacking in addition of using 256 sound files, so there is a chance that this wow.exe is found in the anticheat list of unwanted modifications

As i said twice already, he also hacked according to that administrator which also claimed these were two seperate issues. Would you want to use same wow.exe as a banned hacker did even if it only edits sound files?

When in doubt, you should use a different account as well.
