I got a good laugh out of that. He pretty much reverse-engineered a list of the huge problems retail has.

Most of those reasons for vanilla being 'terrible' are exactly the reasons why I do in fact play it
. That being said #4 is correct- the honor system of vanilla isn't very good- no skill required, you just needed a lack of social life and or job.

1, 2, and 4 are valid points, everything else especially number 3 is bullshit and reeks of a player who likely started WoW in fucking Cataclysm.

Having to form your own group is what a game designer calls 'social difficulty.'
It requires the players to take on difficult social tasks to solve game problems. Not only is this an important element for any social game, it's an important part of building a community.
You can eliminate social difficulty, but not without also eliminating an important element, and undermining community by doing so. Convenience does not come without a cost.

A lot of this list is based on mechanics (which changed every xpac!) and opinionated BS. Allow me to revive an old topic I made, one that proves why vanilla was the absolute best...
https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14928Watch any of those vids, watch all of this vids. Bottom line is that the community made this game; you don't log on to vanilla to do a 40man raid because killing dragon pixels is fucking awesome as all fuck YESS!!!
You do it because 39 other people respect the way you play and want you to be there with them to kill that dragon. Period.
Take your LFG, mini-games, comprehensive and correct honor system and lack of online badass dragon slayer friends and shove it I say.
EDIT: Not enough passion.

"No pet battles"
Lmao. Yeah WoW was so terrible when it didn't have Pokemon! That's GameFAQs forum users for ya though. Now I remember why I stopped going there.

It's extra funny because queuing up to do instances, battlegrounds, and raids single handedly destroyed retail.
Hey wanna play this mmo that requires 0 interaction with other players, in addition to that, you teleport to the content and it's been nerfed so much that if you wanted to you could tank wearing cloth and the warrior can be healer.
Questing? Oh yeah. I love brain dead activity. Why should I have to read, problem solve, or ask for help in an mmo? Being able to solo everything as well as pull 8 quest mobs at once and aoe them down as a rogue while losing 10% health is what I call fun.
Boy, I hate all the diversity vanilla offers too. It's like every class has strengths, weaknesses, and does some things better or worse than others. If I'm playing a Rogue why shouldn't I be able to heal? Yeah I do tons of damage and have some crazy cc but I need to be 100% the same as every other class which means I NEED heals. With that being said, diversity is garbage- I need every class to do the same exact things, it's only fun when there stands absolutely no difference between me and the other 7 classes.
Retail has the right idea. I log in, I can't die, and all the content requires me to do is click accept before I'm teleported there and given a trophy. So much fun
