Had a Alliance mage "DroxRox" need on a 100g Epic item drom from Brd "Eye of Flame"
We all greeded after he claimed he really needed it. He said he would equip it and we all greeded.

He then hearthed and left the party without equiping it..
Group and I felt like dicks letting him take an almost mage BiS, Is this in breach of any game policy?

This isn't against any rules and the best you could do is spread the word so he is blacklisted from future groups. Ninjas are douchebags.

However, you need to take some responsibility in order to not be duped again. There's more than one way to safeguard yourself in this situation. It's unfortunate but you can't really trust the person you just ran the dungeon the past hour with. Once you get burned like this in your OP though you learn like the rest of us

had a guy do that the other day with a Maiden's Circle, really not a whole lot you can do except roll Need on all that stuff, but then that just opens up another can of worms altogether

Someone suggested having everyone need roll on everything, THEN whoever wins it gives it to the appropriate person. That way even if there is a closeted ninja in your group, you still have an 80% chance of the item going to the right person (assuming the other 4 members are not scum.)

Is there no option for master looters in groups?
