Achieving Reputation

by Moonth » Fri Jul 17, 2015 11:44 pm

Having experienced retail since vanilla, I've been dedicated to reputation farming for most of my WoW career. The removal of many factions later on made me wish I had a second chance, and Nostalrius is that second chance.

However, Nostalrius also has various (vanilla) traits that change the face of reputation grinding, so I'm very curious to find out how to get maximum reputation with various factions.

Horde/Alliance:
Doing all quests in all zones give a hefty sum of reputation if you're the appropriate level, but outleveling gives a hefty penalty. I believe Exalted shouldn't be possible unless you have an massive amount of Runecloth or Alterac Valley is released, is this correct?

PvP Forces:
Simple grind and is bugfree.

Steamwheedle:
Outleveling means grind spots are far less efficient at level 60. Reputation rewards at appropriate levels are very time-efficient however. Free Knot is the only available opportunity at level 60. Is there a more efficient method I'm missing?

Others:
Is it possible to use the party trick to gain reputation without losing any? If so, what are the most efficient methods of doing it, assuming multiboxing is disallowed for this (which is how the first character to get all factions maxed out did it)?
Without this bug, opposing factions such as Centuar Clans and Syndicate/Ravenholdt are unable to be min-maxed for reputation.

It was a very faulty and grindy system, which is why reputation was changed to be more obtainable later on for most factions.

Also reputation with the Gelkis/Magram caps at 11999/12000 Honored, or one point below Revered. By saving quests till the player is capped higher values can be attained. The highest level reached ever is Revered 274/21000. So it is impossible and pointless to gain bother with them past honored anyway.

you can already hit exalted. im exalted to stormwind since level 45, its the easiest alliance faction. and to get exalted to darnassus, you can already turn the morrowgrain quest in again and again to get exalted afaik.
other quests to get exalted to alliance races are the hops quest for IF and refreshing spring water quest for SW, aside of the repeatable cloth quests. tho im not really sure with what patch these 2 quests went live.
the hops quest is already in, but does not give you repetitive reputation.

im also 17000/21000 to IF now pre patch. unfortunately i cant find enough quests to get the last 4k rep. i probably couldve gotten this if i turned my xp off from time to time to maximize the rep outcome of quests. thus it would already be possible to get exalted to SW, IF and darnassus now pre 1.5 patch. tho IF is possibly the most difficult and gnomeregan exiles impossible (?).

no idea about the horde.

with the cloth quests its all getting really easy tho
