Which classes are highest in demand these days for PVE Raid

by brimbly » Mon Jul 20, 2015 7:04 am

Hello,

I am new to the server and I am liking the server population so far. I am a seasoned veteran that's played many classed through-out the years, mostly raiding, and I am looking to take suggestions on which class to level as my first toon.

Typically it's going to be a tank/healer, but I find that established guilds rarely recruit warriors as they already have too many and it's mostly good to have for dungeon grinding.

Healers in vanilla I would say a priest but are there enough of those in the server? Are paladins/druid/shamans more in demand?

Lastly for dps, what is the class that you guys seem to notice for having more recruiting slots?

Since I hate leveling new toons, I just want to stick with the one, which is why I would greatly appreciate your input.

As an alliance player, the two classes that have always been in high demand on this server are druids and warlocks. There are simply too few people playing them. As always, warriors are the most played class followed by rogue, so it might be hard for a new player to find groups/guilds as those. I'd recommend going druid or warlock if you enjoy either of those classes, you'll probably be fed raid gear once you get to 60 :^)

I feel like I've seen guilds looking for Shamans more than any other class on horde side.

Read the A/H Ratio thread that is at the top of this forum and you would have your questions answered.

Skilled players with high attendance. The top guilds still need everything, you can imagine that more mediocre guilds would need even more people. So just play whatever you enjoy and you're the best at. As long as it's viable, don't play feral/moonkin druid, don't play enha/ele shaman, don't play retri/prost paladin. More or less that's it. Even 1 shadow priest can find a spot.

Not until they increase the debuff slots to 16 they won't.

Top tier guilds shouldn't have a full shadow priest in their raids atm... Considering they take up 1. Mind Flay 2. Vampric Embrace 3. Shadow Weaving 3 slots at the least, and more if they put up Shadow Word: Pain, etc.

We like to run One Support style priest

Here is the Talent Tree we have him run: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#bVghsVVooZx0xp0x

The idea is that at the start of each fight, he puts up 5 quick rank 1 mindflays to get 5 stacks of shadow weaving, and then every 10 seconds or so does a rank 1 mindblast to refresh it

In the meantime, he raid heals, and has power infusion for a caster.

That way we get shadow weaving, power infusion, Raid Heals and only take up 1 debuff slot

roll a druid.
you can heal in raids, tank 5 mans, and if u want to, dps in cat form like a rogue.
this may fit your playstyle. druids can be quite fun too.
