Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

As I get closer and closer to 40, I still find that just about all of my gold is spent on spell training, or buying significant gear upgrades. (higher level wands, mostly.)

Sitting at only 6 gold right now, how/what should I "grind" to get up to 100? I remember back in retail BC, I just farmed the fuck out of copper ore in elwynn and sold stacks of bars for about 2 gold each, but here, they don't seem to sell very much at all. (and from what I hear, mining nodes are bugged and there's like...10 nodes active throughout the entire zone at any one time)

Are there specific mobs to grind that drop high-value grey vendor trash? Or farming humanoids for cloth? My professions are Tailoring and Alchemy, at 175 and 95, respectively.

Most people like to go to the young panthers in STV they drop an item called the Brisk Whiskers about 75% of the time. A stack of ten sells for about 72s. Although doing this will show great profit STV is highly contested so you'll find alot of the other faction either leveling or ganking so its a risk it for the biscuit type deal.

My favorite mob to farm at that level was the gorillas right outside Booty Bay. They can drop multiple items that vendor for a decent amount. You may however not need to farm all the way to 100g, as you can receive discounts for being at least Honored with your faction and having at least PvP rank 3 (Sergeant). These discounts are 10% each, so you would only have to pay 80g total.

I farmed my gold on both my characters right outside of Stonard, by killing the spiders and selling the trash to the vendors, + some silk on the AH.

Shouldn't take too long to get 100 gold there, as it's quite an amazing spot with a big area and lots of trash to sell. If you're a mage it's also a really good spot to aoe farm.

Well I'm honored with Ironforge, so that would be a 10% discount?

I remember hearing a lot of my guildies farmed the basilisks in shimmering flats, near the path to Tanaris, apparently they drop good loot.

try fishing instead of grinding, if you are around lvl 40 you can fish in tanaris and azhara ( yes azhara i have seen a lvl 36 gnome mage fishing there before i dropped an infernal on him)


on the coast of tanaris, theres plenty of wreckage and stonescale.

in azhara buttloads of stonescale ( there are 2 pools of wreckage you can fish too close to eachother. when you fished one swim to the other and it will respawn around the moment you arrive)

for a few hours fishing in azhara you easily will have about 70 g (as a tailor fishing the wreckage) plenty of rum and runecloth and mageweave bolts. everytime i fish there i make a shitload amount of bags wich sell quickly and for nice money

Hm...I don't remember them dropping anything specifically good, but then again, I don't particularly remember their drops at all. Looking on vanilla wowhead, the greys they drop only vendor for 3-7 silver each.

Nope. Nopenopenopenopenope. If there's one thing I hate more than leveling, it's fishing. So goddamn boring. At least with grinding, I'm a Priest so I can just shield -> dot -> wand -> alt tab and do something else while I wait for the mob to die, but with Fishing, I have to keep the WoW window active (to hear the bobber) and constantly click and cast and click and cast and...egh, so boring and monotonous.

elementals in badlands, across from the ogres near the alley that leads to searing gorge, XP and fat vendor trash, solid stone nice also. Often 10g+ an hour. TAKING TIPS MAIL ME INGAME LOL>

I'm assuming you mean Rock Elemental and Lesser Rock Elemental?

The stuff they drop vendors for 4-5s each, according to Wowhead. Compared to the stuff I can get from cat mobs in Swamp which vendors for 8s each.

Hm, I think I found the mobs you're talking about. "Sorrow Spinner" ? The items they're dropping (Dripping Spider Mandible) seem to vendor for 30s per stack (of 5).

However, the cat mobs drop Long Soft Tail, which vendors for 40s per stack of 5, as well as Bristly Whisker, which vendors for 35s per stack of 5. And seems to have a pretty high drop rate.

Are you sure it's the spiders I should be going after?
