Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I am in a country with one of the best internet backbones in the world (the netherlands)

I have a 100 mbit fiber connection with a respectable provider

I always have very low latency on private servers (for example 8ms on feenix these days)

Yet I am NEVER one of the lucky ones that gets into overcrowded launches like this one.

Can anybody tell me what is happening at a login server on an event like tonight. is it pure luck who gets in or not?

I am just curious , don't expect to change anything, it;s just a nice thing to learn about while waiting

Its more their server IMHO

I think it's a mix of server overload and perhaps a slight network issue. I'm not really sure. I've shined SOME light on what has worked for me in this thread here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1748

where does it say anything is down??
people are on and playing.

They opened the server at approximatively 17:55 not 18:00
so most people playing right now were able to login before 18:00.
They did a restart but it's easier to get back in if you're already playing cause you know right when to spam login.

I've actualy managed to make a few chars real fast to reserve names before 18:00 and even to log in game. Then I did a restart (to change a few addons) and was never able to get back in.

weird.. i tried at 17:57 and 17:58 and got nowhere. thena at 18:01 i still got nowhere, but at least the connection message changed and I had an idea there was a server on the other end, which I hadn't at 17:57

I got to level 4 untill we got announced the server will be restarted after that no one in my Teamspeak have gotten inn again we are about 12-13 people.
