Missing NPC Gossip Text

First off I want to be clear that I enjoy this server very much and greatly appreciate how much effort the devs have made into making many of the smallest details authentic. Thank you! So, please don't take this post as a nitpick complaint, but rather as an appreciation of the server and a desire to make it complete in the long run.

"Greetings Name"

Many NPCs have this placeholder text instead of the gossip that they are supposed to have. As I slowly level an alt for fun, I've started keeping track of these NPCs in a spreadsheet so I can track down their gossip text later. Ideally, since there are hundreds of these NPCs with missing gossip, it would be best to compile and submit a list of these NPCs and the gossip they are supposed to have, so that they can all be fixed in one go, instead of making hundreds of tiny bug reports that would clutter the bug tracker.

1) Is anyone already working on gathering this information?

2) Is there a database that includes gossip text? Unfortunately WoWhead and the archived Allakhazam databases don't seem to have gossip information that I can find, unless someone happened to write it in the comments. Does any version of the MaNGOS code (even a different one than we're using) include some of this missing NPC gossip text? I don't know enough programming to figure out how to check this.

3) Possible sources of finding the normal NPC gossip text: retail WoW, old Youtube videos, maybe old screenshots. Retail WoW might be able to provide most of the missing NPC gossip text. In TBC gossip text was disabled by default, but it can still be viewed by re-enabling it with a script or add-on. However, some NPCs no longer exist since Cataclysm, for example most of Auberdine was killed off and are just corpses on the ground. So are there any additional sources that anyone knows for finding gossip text?

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, see the screenshots in this post for examples, as well as an explanation of how to re-enable gossip text in retail: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/12286978621

Obviously this is all as low priority as can be, but it would be nice to fix it in the long run. For now, it's an easy thing for me to start by just taking down NPC names with missing text as I level an alt, and eventually figuring out what they are actually supposed to say.
