Grounding Totem has no cd on spells absorbed?

Why does grounding totem absorb unlimited amount of spells (non-direct or non-damage ones) instead of 1 every 10 seconds?

Tooltip:
Summons a Grounding Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster that will redirect one harmful spell cast on a nearby party member to itself every 10 seconds. Will not redirect area of effect spells. Lasts 45 sec.

IDK if grounding totem worked this way in classic or not but as it exists in relation to its tooltip the ability is broken.

Likewise when i'm standing next to my grounding totem and a mage is casting at max range, his spells will ignore my totem.

I've said it in other places and it's the same cause here. Agro is BROKEN and incorrectly generated. I noticed this after only a couple days playing here. In this case, the totem's agro should be generated by the proximity of the attacked player to the totem.
Currently, agro is based on proximity of the attacker to the totem. This is incorrect.

That's probably, similar to warriors reflect in later addons, when you cast shatter-like combo it will reflect both spells due to ping (there even was a video of warrior reflecting 40 shadowbolts cast at the same moment by 40 warlocks or something like that, they all got reflected), i guess that's supposed to be so.

What i am talking here is when shaman puts grounding and i use any of my dot every gcd (or any other spell except searing pain, shadow bolt and death coil) they will all go immune until
a) it eats direct damage spell and destroyes
b) you kill it directly with pet or wand or melee hit
c) shaman gets out of totem range
d) shaman dies
e) totem expires

What it's suppused to do in this case is immune my first dot and then i have 10 seconds of free cast on shaman until that grounding totem will be able to eat another spell.

Here is some topic for similar issue from feenix server from 2011 year.

The right mechanics is explained in pre-last post there, although vidoe links do not work.
When i played there 1-2 years ago it worked fine, with 10 second cd, so i guess it was a bug and they fixed it.

IT is correct that the totem absorbs 2 gcd habilities at once ( eg 1 frostbold + pom frostbolt) but its not correct AT ALL that the totem absorbs 10 curse of tongues in a row, it should only absorb 1 non dmg spell every X seconds (without breaking) or 1 damaging speall (breaking).

You are incorrect. Having played an Alliance Warlock for all of vanilla, that is how it worked. Annoying but blizz-like.
