Vanilla+BC still 'vanilla'?

I keep reading a lot about people wanting the Burning Crusade addon to be implemented in the current Vanilla version of Nostalrius begins. I know that Kronos (Twinstar) has both of them, vanilla and TBC servers online, separated. Somehow, the TBC server is not all that much populated.
I wonder if Nostalrius players still consider the game upgraded to the first Expansion (TBC) to still be '100% vanilla"? Apparently, there seems to be some kind of 'invisible treshold' where TBC is considered 'awesome' and everything after that (Starting from WOTLK) is considered..er..downgraded?
Not a poll, just for discussion's sake.
EDIT: Do player like more the vanilla or the TBC version?

No, it would be a Burning Crusade server.

If other xpacs are implemented it's usually called a progression server, unless it would be exactly fixed on TBC, then it would simply be a TBC server.
I just checked the timeline for nost, and it looks good. Feels more like a progression server with all the patches planned for the future. I don't know if they want to keep progressing to the next xpac, so all thoughts about that are mere speculations.
Does Kronos let you server change to the TBC server? Else time invested in the vanilla server might be the problem and the reason people don't start over at the TBC server.

I like TBC class mechanics and talents and overall combat design better than vanilla's. But I like vanilla content more.

So, in theory, if the progression keeps up, we might eventually land in.... Pandaria some day? Not sure i like the idea. It will still take me A LOT of playing to get bored with vanilla content. Not moaning or anything, just speculating. The driving force that brought me on Vanilla servers was..vanilla, pre-BC I mean. Anything else and I am not interested. Might as well continue to play on retail Mickey-mouse WoW.

Give me Vanilla or death! No, I don't consider TBC to be part of Vanilla. And while I consider it to be the best expansion, I still have no interest in playing it. Vanilla is superior.

The admins explicitly said that if they ever decide to upgrade to TBC, it will be a separate server with one-way character copies from the vanilla server.
So if they were to "eventually" get all the way up to pandaland, then we'd have 5 separate servers, each set to a different expansion.

not really vanilla if you add in an expansion. I would prefer a TBC version to be its own server.

The current PVP crowd that whine about the "probable" upcoming PVE realm, using the excuse of player-base fracturing would surely lose their shit in regards to the release of a separate BC server.
I'd like to see 2 Nost shards available two years from now, not four or five of them with only 200 players each at peak across the board. Here's how this typically goes; people will hammer away at vanilla until they've got MC and Rag/Ony on farm for a few months, and then they'll leave for a new server if they have nothing new to look forward to. If anyone thinks that NOT turning BC launch into an event for players to look forward as an expansion to the current or upcoming server sets has any GOOD reasons why - let's hear it, because historically for player run shards splitting your playerbase between a vanilla and BC shard becomes a deathnail for the entire playerbase/community/server operators.
