They work just like they worked in vanilla, minus the LFG-queue system.

They did not become summoning stones until TBC.

Back in vanilla, Meeting Stones functioned like the LFG tool that was added in TBC. You click on the stone and it opens an interface to let you search for people for that dungeon.

On nost however, they're completely unscripted, so they don't do anything at all.

Yes, you have to walk everywhere.

From day one (back in 2005 EU) did the meeting stone have any function at all? Could we summon players? I can't remember now.

Never mind. The info is found here.

Thanks.

According to the patch notes, meeting stones were added in 1.3, and you had to actually go to the meeting stone and click on it, in order to be put into the group finder queue. Later on in 1.5 however, they made it so that you can join the group finder from innkeepers, essentially making a primitive version of the LFG tool that was added in TBC.

It wasn't until 2.0.1 that they changed meeting stones to just function like warlock summons.

I have to ask were these posts serious? Retrogamer you posted the link, yet gotmilk explained the meetings stones, which you then thanked him for, even though all he did was read from the link you yourself posted.

Like this is my mind right now.

Nobody used the meeting stones in vanilla anyway.

I posted the question first and then found the wiki page afterwards but didn't edit the post. Sorry.
