Need Some Class Insight

by Maladocious » Wed Sep 09, 2015 11:27 am

I'm hoping the fine folks here at the Nostalrius forums can help me come to a decision. You see, I'm torn between a few classes, which are: the mage, hunter, and warlock. I'm hoping to gain some insight into how they stack up against each other, in raids, and dungeons, overall. I'm also really interested in how each performs at different gear levels, and which has the easiest time getting into pugs. Thanks.

Mage is really good through the entire game. PvE aswell as PvP.

Hunter and lock are both very strong in late game. Up to the point where it becomes simply rediculous.
T1/2 with bwl xbow
T1/2 lock with arround 400sp

Overall I would recommend mage though. The class is more versatile then Hunter or Lock and if played well can be just as, if not more, rediculous.

Warlocks dps start to pull ahead of hunter and mage after zg comes out in raids

Mages have the easiest time getting into pugs due to polymorph

Mages are one of the best classes in the game to play. 5 mans and raids always want them, their DPS is only going to go up in each tier, they're one of the easiest classes in the game to play, and a Frost Mage with Engineering is the single most powerful class in PVP. Plus, you can farm most efficiently out of all the classes. Everybody wants Warlocks, too. They aren't as desired as Mages, but fewer people play them, so there's still high demand for them.

Thanks guys, this was exactly what I was looking for. I was leaning toward mage, and I think this cleared up any lingering doubts.

Hunters and warlocks are the easiest to level. There's a ton of hunters, so most raids are filled. Mages are kind of in the same place. Warlocks are probably the most wanted for raids out of the three, as less people play them. All three are pretty easy, and all three are pretty good in PvP for various reasons. If you plan on raiding, just ask yourself one question. Do you want to spam frostbolt, shadow bolt, or aimed shot/arcane shot?
The level of whining about bans on the forums is at an all time industrial level.

Lock>Mage>Hunter
Based on PvE, PvP and leveling combined.
