Hi guys, So i stopped playing here a while back when i had some irl things to do, as things have died down i wanted to come back finish getting to 60 and hopefully raid. Problem is i cant seem to get the game to run at all.
So im useing W10 was wondering if anyone else is and what they did to make it work, Im useing a basic vanilla WoW client what i downloaded from another site from ages ago, if i need to download the main Nostalrius oen to fix the issue i will.
I ran the client in Compatability windows 8, i got to char select and i clicked enter world but.. i never loaded in then game crashed..

Also using 10. Had no issues, besides an initial sound driver issue not related to WoW.

I'm using Windows 10 and haven't had many problems. The only time my client crashes is during the loading screen while I'm alt tabbing back and forth.

Yeah, since win8 wow client will autoclose if you click inside it while it's in loading screen (because windows thinks it's unresponsive). You can alt tab and stuff, just don't click inside while it's loading and everything is fine.

I had issues with an older version of SweetFX. I upgraded to the latest version and have had no issues!

Confirming that a 'portable version' of the game (literally just drag the install folder from one computer to another) will work on a Windows 10 Pro machine 'as is', no compatibility mode needed.
It will crash, as others have stated, if you click out of the game while it's at the load screen and then click back into it.

Isn't WoW like that by default?
I've always been able to just drag my WoW folder around to different hard drives, and it works fine.
