You trolling or what?
You come on a forum full of vanilla players asking such question?
Please...most of us didn't even bother installing a cataclysm (shittaclysm?) client....

Wait, give him the benefit of the doubt. If he is young and only knows Azeroth post cata then he doesn't know.

As for which is better, that is an easy answer, pre cata :)

For those who like the "realism" of leveling, the original version.

I like that quests in vanilla WoW are not about getting you to 60 as quickly as possible.

They are about a living world where NPCs sometimes send you to the other corner of the world because their friend is stationed there. It is an actual story filled with exploration, even if we mostly know all of it now.

Sure, the Xth time it's getting boring and more like a drag, but the first time around it was marvelous (and well, annoying at times, but the marvelous part won out easily).

Cataclysm uses a similar model as SW:TOR where leveling is structured to layers so you can follow a linear leveling path and not waste time. That's not an MMO game anymore, that is a linear single player where in the end you get ported to an "MMO" where noone knows each other anymore and people just play more for ranks and items.

I despise how they ruined the world with Cata. They can take that streamlined BS and shove it, Vanilla 4 life!

Pre -cata. In fact, one of the most special zones on the game is Azshara, because it was completely destroyed since Cata.

That entirely depends on your definition of an MMO, and what you find enjoyable in it.

I HATE leveling. I detest it with every fiber of my being, and I'm going to have to do my best to slog through it yet again, because for me, the game starts at 60. I don't care about Telonas Windstalker and his lost amulet, or Joran Durnhelm and his father's sword that was stolen by centaurs on the other side of the world, go get that shit for yourself Joran, I've got shit to do. I may miss out on some of the lore and backstory of the game, and the mobs I'm killing at 60, but I honestly don't really care who Vaelastrasz is, or why Nefarian is such a dick, or what C'thun did after he retired from Japanese porn.

I met and maintained WAY more people and friendships at 60 than I did leveling 1-60, there's no comparison, it's not even close.

Leveling is the core of WoW
