250 ms in Thailand

by valaquenta » Mon Oct 05, 2015 9:09 am

Not an anormal latency when you're playing so far away from france, but if anyone has any trick to reduce the latency, i'll take it x). (it is not unplayable right now, just not perfect, and only god knows how laggy it could get when the pve server comes out.....)

Thank you for your help guys

I'm also playing from Bangkok and my latency is around 300ms all the time. There is no way to reduce it. The server is too far away from here. :)

Get real internet, there's really no way to circumvent a physical problem.

250ms seems reasonable for the distance to the server.

You might be able to shave off a few ms IF the routing your internet service provider (ISP) uses to connect you to the server is subpar.

You could try a VPN from a central european country near the server (France, Germany, Netherlands, Swiss) to see if it affects your latency.

If the routing
You---(chosen by your ISP)-->VPN---(chosen by the VPN)-->server
is better than
You---(chosen by your ISP)--->sever,
it might better your latency slightly.

You would need to use a (trial of a) paid VPN though, as free VPNs are usually notoriously slow.

But as stated initially, I doubt it would be a noticiable difference, if any difference at all.
