Has anyone tried using the service from the US and if so does it work?

How is adding an extra VPN between you and the gameserver, giving you a better experience?
Your pings would appear better, but would your game play/lag change, most likely not. There is no way to get "better/faster" internet from a service/tool like this

Your pings would most likely be better - not just in appearance. You would most likely get
better/faster" internet because it would cut down on the milliseconds it take for packets to traverse from your PC to the Nost server. (Individual results will vary.)
You are correct that it will do nothing for server lag - many players have acceptable internet ping latency, but might continue to experience lag from the game server (such as when there are more than 7k players online.)

My VPN at work makes my connection significantly better. While services like this and "Smooth ping" are really gimmicky, actual professional ones have an advantage.

From my home connection, there are nearly 30 hops from me to Nostalrius, which goes over all of the residential lines in the United States.

From my work VPN, there are only SEVEN because enterprise grade networks aren't forced to go over lines all over the country.

It drops my ping from ~200 to ~140 and it's a much smoother connection with less fluctuations.

It only works if your ISP is shit. If you are having consistent routing issues between you and the game server this might help, otherwise its very unlikely.

I was going to try out this program until I noticed its developers are calling all negative reviewers "trolls" and are actually trying to bribe, yes, bribe, people into posting positive ones. I also see the developer commenting under every single review trying to desperately defend their obviously crap program. This is the behavior I typically see with worthless Early Access games. As if that's not bad enough, after booting up the program, you'll quickly realize it's demanding you make an account on their site before it'll run. Having a networking degree doesn't make me a genius, but I still question how getting your Email address helps them route TCP packets.

Using a VPN to change your IP to one that seems to originate from France, will allow you to connect, and decrease your latency to within your normal range. It all depends on the routing your ISP uses to get your connection to the server. If a VPN can reduce the number of hops, then yes your latency will be reduced.

Okay, so I bought PrivateInternetAccess to test it, and their French VPN server drops my ping from 180 to 140 in Florida. And there's no fluctuation. So it can help.
