LF decent laptop, used primarily for Nostalrius WoW

by Xardon » Wed Oct 21, 2015 1:02 pm

Hey guys,

I usually play WoW on a more-than-capable desktop, but I'd like to be able to play when I travel as well. Any suggestions for a decent laptop that will run Nostalrius WoW on high settings?

I was looking at some of the msi models. I COULD spend $1,000 but would rather go about $600ish if that would get the job done. Raiding isn't essential for this prospective laptop, but it would be nice, even at about 30-35 fps.

I'm guessing Vanilla WoW doesn't require much.

Thanks for any input!

Anything should be fine, it's 2015. Focus on what else you want from laptop, like 13" ultrabook for portability.

You can basically buy any MSI/ASUS model around 800-$1k and Max wow on all settings.

Tbh, my laptop is from 2007, I've tried GW2 since F2P and Tera, and my laptop shits the bed at around 5 fps. Nostalrius is damn near 40-50 maxed AND edited config for more. Runs nice anything this day in age would work, hell one of those tablet laptops will more then likely do well.

It's a 10 year old game.

Any computer nowadays can run it.

SurfacePro and the like can run the game but CPU is throttled because the heat dissipation is pretty awful on most tablet PCs. Go with a $800 gaming laptop like everyone else has already stated.

If you really want to spend only $600 you might have to sacrifice some specs or buy a refurbished machine.

I suggest this laptop.

I bought it 3 years ago and I can still run almost any game I want on high with good FPS. I can run Diablo 3 and well anything I want on high. It is pretty good for 700$ if you want a 17 inch laptop.
