Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

This server has blown away my expectations, as I type this there are 5077 people on, and the server is running smooth as butter. Really... just wow I am amazed.

I was thinking of making a post like this. I've never seen a private server like this before. The population is huge and it runs like retail. Very impressive. No bugs so far that I've seen (lvl 17 atm).

Is it documented anywhere how they did it? Did they make a server cluster, with zones on different servers (like retail)? Or all 5k connected into same physical server?

+1, great job. Seeing all these low-level zones so lively, so crowded with people gladdens my heart.

And kudos for the hotfixes/quick restarts as well.

The connection to the server is indeed of high quality. However, I wouldn't say that the server itself is that much better than other private servers that I've played on. At least not so far. I've encountered quite a few bugged quests on darkshore for example. It is still a new server though and admins do seem to care about improving it. Hopefully the lvl 60 content isn't buggy, which is all that will matter after some point.

Servers nowadays are just way better. Clustering wouldn't be bad, but not change that much either i guess.

I've been leveling in darkshore lately and had no problem with quest.

My only concern was about the summoning of a satyr in a furbolg camp. The quest can be done, but anyone can loot the satyr chest while it would be so much better if only the summoner could do it. To be honest I don't know if this is actually a bug or not (such things could happen on retail too).

Please MP me with the problems you have met. Maybe I can help you, and if I don't, I ll take note of the bug you discovered.
