Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hi guys, I am new to WoW, trying to decide if I want to play on the PvP server or the PvE server, any reccomendations?

Do you want to attack and/or be attacked in contested zones? Then play PvP. Otherwise, go PvE.

I would recommend PvE:
- newer server= a lot of people in starting zones (both good and bad), a lot of new guilds forming, a lot of group questing and low level
- lower population= less lag, no queues, less server crashes and disconnects
- no being backstabbed in contested zones, yet still can go PvP in battlegrounds

PVE.

PVP realm is full. Just like that... You are welcome to add yourself to the lot but you won't enjoy it. It's overcrowded to the point it is almost unplayable

If you want to play the entire game, roll on the pvp server.
If you only want to experience half the game(or you're not interested in the player vs player content), roll on a pve server.

World PvP is:
An equal level player attacking you when he sees you at full health: NEVER!

but
a) An equal level player attacking you when you are at 10% health, still fighting another mob: YEP
b) A group of 4-5 players equal level jumping you: YEP
c) A player 10 (or more) levels higher attacking you: YEP
d) A combination of a, b and c rolled into one + corpse camping: SURE

So if it's your first steps in WoW, don't roll PvP server.

PvP for the full experience.



PvE for the care-bear experience.

Just do PvE. When people claim that you are a "carebear" for playing pve, they are just upset that they wont have as many low level victims to camp on their pvp server. There are 2 types of servers, Pve and Gank. If you want "fair" pvp, the closest you will find is battlegrounds which you can do on either server.

It's only 10 days old, also the PvE ruleset is much more enjoyable for a new player.
