Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I'm trying to decide between warmanes 3.3.5 realm and nost. Why do you guys prefer vanilla over WOTLK? (Don't mention RDF because it's disabled on warmane). Isn't wotlk better in almost every way?

wagmane = atrocious GMs + mods in a pay to win environment, only looking to get the most money out of you.
item prices of 100€+ for normal epics
lordaeron is well scripted, however their population is faked (+1k on each wotlk server, + 50% on blackrock, didn't check the rest)

nost is the only popular server without pay to win (without a shop at all).

--> If you want to enjoy a blizzlike and fun server with a great community you should join nost.

If you have too much money and like to get banned for "server disrespect" after criticising anything go to wagmane

Also because this is true vanilla. A much better game than the watered down soiled version of WotLK. Sure it may have more performance issues and worse graphics but who cares? It's not the kiddie version where you hit 60 in 2 days and one shot everything.

Completely agree with this. This version of the game is when it was absolutely great. I think most of us who played wow got "hooked" when we were playing Vanilla.

I don't consider it to be better, in even a single way. In WotLk, dungeons weren't a challenge at all, and thus required no coordination, which began to breed an instant gratification mindset in players, also, the leveling followed suit. As well, the implementation of the cross realm LFG tool took away the feeling of community, and replaced it with complete anonymity, which, coupled with the ease of dungeons, began turning the community sour.

This, combined with a laughably ease first tier of raiding, turned many of TBCs raid tested veterans away from the game, including myself. The rate at which a far below average player could gain epics far removed the prestigious status that raiding once had. These changes were all made in the name of "quality of life," quality of life for whom, I ask? I'm gonna stop here, lest this turn into an essay. But, these are some of the reasons I prefer vanilla, and, most of my reasoning applies to TBC as well.
