Sniping bots

Have to do something with so called "snipers". They camp at neutral AH and instantly buy everything you try to transfer between factions (yes, INSTANTLY. Even having seller and buyer chars ready and swicthing windows between them is not fast enough to bypass those bots). Everybody understands they practice botting which I hope is not tolerated. Not to say its a scam and a major griefing problem. Today we were killing those bots all over Booty Bay, they're becoming more numerous (usually they use lvl 1 rogues). Roguem, Legitbuyer, Gurplaese to name a few. Now they started to openly use lvl 60 chars - an item of mine was recently sniped by Numielle, lvl 60 undead priest. Will anything be done to stop them?

The way to 'stop' these players is to stop giving them free gold.
Don't ever put an item on the neutral AH for less than you would be okay with selling it for.

Do you know that real value listing means huge losses on AH cuts?
The problem here is that people are clearly using bots. What will they do next? Speed hack, noclip and duping gold?
Example: two botting rogues one on another

Its not a bot, its literally just an auctioneer addon. They aren't doing anything against the rules by buying an item for the price you put it up for.
Maybe I'm cynical but i don't see why there's so many posts about this.

Transferring between factions through the Neutral AH is not a guarunteed process. You're assuming a pretty high level of risk when you do it. Also, way to go admitting to multiboxing while trying to get others banned.

Was that possible with normal auctioneer? Park a char and go away and the char will automatically buy anything he sees at convinient price with no confirmation from its owner? I didnt know auctioneer provided such automatization (still doubt it however)

If I'm so wrong trying to do normal stuff and people using bots are allaround right, maybe I should just resort to using bots myself and start by stealing other people stuff from AH? Isnt it so legit? I'm guilty by transfering, people who leave car unlocked are guilty of provoking theft, girls are guilty of provoking rape etc. Also, multiboxing with different factions (and I didnt say all chars were mine). You have any common sense left of you are one of them "legit buyers"?

Normal auctioneer could be set to buy items under certain conditions yes. Obviously you can modify it to be better as I suspect these players have done, but it is still an addon and not an outside .exe or similar that would constitute the bannable offence of botting.
If you are so intent on transferring stuff across factions, ask them to implement the non-Blizzlike functionality of cross faction mailing rather than trying to get them to police addons.

You can report them by making an ingame ticket and let the gms sort it out. Until then, yeah you're multiboxing if you're doing it as you described in your op.

I'm not sure if the AH snipers are actually guilty of botting or not, since I have never tried to transfer there. But I am sure that what you described is in fact multiboxing and against the ToU.
I really could car less if you want to try to compare real life crimes like theft and rape to someone buying out your transfer items before you. All it looks like to me is that you have no argument left. So feel free to continue ue using that horrible line of reasoning.

Auction purchasing is not a protected function in this patch, which means it can be programmed into an addon. Addons are allowed, and not against the ToU.
Multiboxing while using the auction house is indeed against the ToU (read the updated version). So if they are multiboxing, while they don't need to switch windows, that would be disallowed. Botting is not allowed either, so if they are single-boxing but using an anti-afk bot, then that is a permaban offense.
However, if they are using an addon that automatically buys things, and not multiboxing, and not botting but rather coming back to press the space bar once in a while... that is perfectly allowed. So essentially AH sniping is fine as long as there are not bots or multiboxing involved.
Don't use the neutral auction house as your own personal cross faction item transfer vehicle and you'll be OK.

It's possible by coding an addon to do it. Plenty of people are capable of this modification, including myself. It was indeed possible in vanilla, although the default Auctioneer capability did not include this. You need an additional module for that.
