In game player-made events.

If there's one thing lacking on here IMO it's the lack of player events in-game. Is there any ideas anyone could come up with?

Maybe a tournament at Gurubashi in STV? Or maybe a world pvp night where we all get fucked up and raid a town?

Stuff like that. Any ideas?

I used to host events in every game I played. I tend to do less popular and therefore less common stuff.

Things I used to do are:
- Festival of Crafting Goods and Products - this works like a fair. Successful high skill crafters would offer services for free, offered some materials, random leveling stuff for those who need it.
Higher endgame stuff would be kinda cheaper to purchase during that festival just as appreciation to anyone who showed some respect towards the effort of folks who organized it.
This event was never hosted in WoW tough. Why? Well, wow community is generally a bitch. Nostalirus, however, seems to have quite a big chunk of decent folks and this could work.
I hosted this event with my guild multiple times in LotRo, Laurelin RP server.

- Also, I used to host biker's rally in Fallen Earth. In that post-apoc mmo bikes, cars, atvs and such vehicles are used as mounts. We used to gather and have fun racing and performing some choreographies in that time. Here it could work out just as a "Mount Exhibition". It really isn't matter of having some special mount to show off. It's matter of having fun. In vanilla wow it's kinda prestige of having an epic mount. Some mount show-off event would sure do well here.

- Also, one idea just crossed my mind. Engineering festival. Yo engis.... gather up, show off your gadgets, sell some dynamites and other stuff which don't req. engi to be used. At the end of festival spice up things with some awesome fireworks. Find good location, gather some decent folks, do some slight RP. Have fun.


I could write ideas entire day. WoW is endless source of fun if you have creative mind. I indeed have it and I intend to do many stuff once I finish leveling and get somewhat decent gear.
Problem is getting community support and attendance.
In other games it's much easier to run events, i don't know why. In Rift I hosted crafting fair once, on Typhiria shard. Was good experience, community was supportive and "warm".
I tried hosting same thing in WoW and lets just say that it just didn't went as I expected.

However, as I said many times before, I really don't feel this is bad community and I'm sure I'll try something of above written when I get my own things sorted out.
