Loot Tables Messed Up?

Level 21 mobs in Hillsbrad drop level 33 gear. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, occasionally low level mobs drop a high level BoE green.

i can confrim this.

i had two lvl 20+ drops from a lvl 6 and a lvl 11 NPC.

for the sake of true blizzlike feeling i did instandly destroy them.

Yes, I've seen this. Mobs should never drop a green item that is higher level than the mob.
I also think the overall droprate for blue/green items is way too high (like 2-3x easily).

Not you. The others saying they're getting too powerful stuff. It works both ways.. the chance for lower level loot drops and the chance for high level loot increases as you go to more high level areas. >_> I was grinding in Stonetalon and still got level 7 stuff to drop.. It's how the game works. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not.

People are pointing it out because it's not in line with retail, it's not complaining about bad luck.

You used Brightwood Staff as an example, but that is an epic and they had different drop tables. You could get a level 48 epic off of a level 43 mob, for example. But you could never get a level 25 green or blue off of a level 14 mob.

There are probably exceptions, but in general greens were always lower level than the mob that dropped it.

Level 7 wolf in Dun Morogh did drop me a level 50 green BoE and later a lvl 28 Axe item.
