Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I got my gnome to 41, and I'm getting impatient/excited about getting my first ever Alliance mount(I'm really set on have a mechostrider). The problem is, I'm only sitting at Honored with both Gnomeregan and Ironforge. It's not like I rolled a gnome and ran straight to Elwynn or anything- I've run literally every single quest in Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, and most of Wetlands. This is on the PvE server, so I'm pretty sure the cloth turn in quests aren't up yet(does PvP even have those yet?).

Any advice on how to get my rep up? When and where can I expect to hit exalted via normal questing?

You don't need exalted to buy the mount of your own race. I saw someone posting they couldn't buy their mount (because the NPC wanted them to be exalted) a couple of days ago though so maybe it's buggy atm.
