Melee PVP lag

Is there any way to fix the lag/delay in PVP? I don't get it when I'm fighting a mob but almost every time I'm pvping I'll be well within range to attack someone but I can't at all. It makes pvping as a melee vs. someone who can kite you extremely difficult because on my screen they are within range but I'm sure on theirs it's the opposite. I've also heard of a ton of other warriors, pallys, rogues, and druids having the same issue.
