Shouldn't there be a npc that will restore the neck if you delete it?

Well rough life mine despawned after server crash and now I can't do upgrade quest.

As far as I know their item replacement policy applies only for raid drops. Would the Exalted version be any good for your class?

Sure it has a neatness with r12 gloves for 5 rage hamstrings, but looking into the database this neck just as av trinket and onyxia quest neck should have a npc that restores the item for you. Also after talking with a gm he says that items lost due to crashes can be restored with proof.

I mean lets say you somehow manage to delete your onyxia neck and they refuse to restore it due to a npc not being scripted? Rip Onyxia raids...

If you believe there should be a neck restoration option in Vanilla, find the evidence and report it to the tracker.

Blizzard restored items like this and the npcs that give the quest for sure gave you a replacement in WotLK times.

A fair assumption is that Blizzard added the npc restoration at some point in order to not having to do it manually all the time. But finding a source to confirm if this was before or after 2.0 will likely be hard.

I seem to remember a situation with a guildmember restoring the necklace in Vanilla but its such a minor thing that my memory could easily be playing tricks on me.

Small stuff like this normally didn't make it into patchnotes so that is probably a dead end and the wayback archive is neither searchable nor very complete. (And the official forums is probably the best bet for finding contemporary evidence for this and that doesn't to my knowledge exist outside of the wayback archive.)

If you look into most databases and compare quest rewards like this with items from other quests there is a "create item value" from like onyxia neck, zg rep neck, av trinket that doesn't exist on other normal quest items. My case is just fucked up that a server crash should affect a character I played for 7 months. I would bug report it but you know... account still pending.

I heard rogues get their REVERED neck once they reach FRIENDLY with zandalar tribe.
