footage capture help

Hi,

Currently playing wow on windows 8, what programme can i download for free to capture to make a pvp movie? I looked at Fraps but looks like it won't work on windows 8?

If you have an NVIDIA GPU then Shadowplay is the way to go, doesn't put a lot of strain on performance and runs in background so you can just capture last n minutes of footage at any time. Also OBS is quite good, kinda requires some setting up though.

OBS is great if you don't have a card that supports NVIDIA Shadowplay. If you do use OBS and cannot find the WoW client under sources make sure you are launching OBS in "Administrator" mode.

I've been using fraps for years. I was told dxtory was better.

If you have an AMD card try AMD Gaming Evolved. It's basically AMD's shadowplay but a bit more taxing.

I used to use fraps but the file sizes were humungo
