How Good Is Nostalrius, Really?

I've ran into quite a few bugs myself, ranging from class spells like rez/summon to mobs (wrong spells, behavior, linking etc) and i was wondering if it gets any better the higher lvl we go. i'm 31 now, and i was honestly expecting a bit more.

I guess i just want to hear you guys's thoughts on this.

Population and stability wise I am satisfied, but I've encountered several annoying bugs (warrior charge is one of them, taking the character into the mobs). At this moment all I can do is to hope, that the dev team won't be overwhelmed by the amount of bugs to fix-

Big issues with it. I'm not happy, to say the least.

Seen quite a few quests bugged.
Seen quite a few gamebreaking bugs (don't tell me rogues and group loots are fine, lmao).
Seen some shit from GMs.
Seen item duping, although not on important stuff, I'm fairly sure I'd manage to dupe drops on a boss.
Seen big shit from the community.

All this being said, I think I'll give kronos a try on release, in the hope to find a better place for me.

Crashes are usually not caused by the amount of players connected, but by a specific action or script breaking the server. Once the source of the crash is fixed, that specific action or script will not cause the server to crash again. If the server crashes again it will be caused by another script that needs fixing in a similar way.

More on-topic: I'm really enjoying this server so far. Sure there are some bugs, major and minor, but it's still better than most big servers out there, like lazy-dev Peenix for instance. The stability of Nostalrius is mind boggling for the amount of players connected.

Crashes and bugs are to be expected shortly after launch, even Blizzard never provided a bug-free environment. That being said the devs seem very intent to actually fix bugs, and server crashes seem to have an even higher priority. Just give them some time to iron out the remaining bugs and you'll have the best vanilla server out there, if it isn't the best already.

Im only lvl 17 but so far it has been great, exept the fact that it is lagging now, it was ok but now with bigger population it is laggy.

As for bugs, warrior charge is bugged but havent noticed anything else.
Charge takes you in or even behind the npc. Not on all occasions but 9 times out of 10.

So far it's definitely the best scripted server I've played/seen.

The only thing that's really been bugging me is fake quest items / herbalism nodes laying around in the world. I don't know if they get bugged by someone else or if they just spawn bugged, but sometimes you'll go to collect the item and there's nothing to loot.

Maybe I haven't been playing long enough to see any other bugs, but so far I'm very happy for the free server they've let us play on!

well.. stability and population 10/10
Scriptwise, i am disappointed, many bugs already fixed on other realms or present there, which could have been fixed before release. but, still the best choice

This server is the more stable I've ever seen so far, and by far the most populated.
Having both those qualities at the same time really is impressive. I don't think any other project can compete with Nostalrius on those, new and future projects included.

Script-wise, again Nostalrius is the best I've seen so far, but the quantity of bugs is still superior to retail. It is possible that upcoming projects have the same quality, or even a little better. This is at least what advertisements let us imagine. Let's see after new projects release, and when people hit 60 there too. I've learned to be prudent with advertisements!

Overall, Nostalrius is the best server and will be for a long time. Even if another server prove itself to have less bugs, Nostalrius already has so few bugs that the difference can't be significant, while the stability and population make a huge difference.

In the future, I am confident bugs will be fixed. The dev team is reactive until now and they proved skilled enough to solve many problems (that were never fixed anywhere else).

Yes, and so it is related to the amount of players, at least indirectly :) When great numbers are online, it is quite accurate to consider the chance the broken script is activated is proportional to the number of players. If there are 5k online player, a crash is about twice as likely to happen than when there are 2k5 online players.
