RealmPlayers is effectively a WoW Armory for private servers (Emerald Dream, Warsong, Al'Akir, and Archangel on Feenix, as well as Rebirth and now Nostalrius . The way it works is that there is a handful of players who have a custom RealmPlayers AddOn designed to gather data about every player that they target. This data is then uploaded to the RealmPlayers database and appears on the website.
There is a ton of really cool stuff you can do with it:
- Search individual players and view their gear, stats, pvp/honor information, and information like race/name change history (Feenix) or what date they obtained specific items. You can even view a 3D model of any character.
- Search guilds and view complete guild rosters as well as PvE progress
- Search items and view their stats. Can even view a list of every player that owns an item on each server.
- View current PvP standings, highest ranked players, and lifetime HK leader boards for each server.
RealmPlayers also has an extremely useful section called RaidStats that provides high quality, user friendly data recorded during 20 and 40 man Raids. The RaidStats tool allows you to:
- View accurate Damage, Healing, and Efficiency reports for raids (NOTE: at least one player in the raid must be running the RealmPlayers data collection AddOn)
- View detailed charts and graphs for Damage/Healing reports.
- View leader boards for top DPS, HPS, etc. including lists for specific bosses, specific instances, individual classes, or specific servers.
From the RealmPlayers website:
- Code: Select all
RealmPlayers is an armory website developed by Dilatazu for vanilla WoW private-servers. It was originally an idea about having pvp lists which existed in the old days of retail vanilla. The pvp lists are still part of the website but the website is nowadays a full WoW armory with character and guild data supporting multiple private server realms.
The armory works by having several people running around with an addon which saves a database of players that are targeted. This database is later sent to the server by using a small simple uploader program which you either manually or automaticly run everytime you close wow. The server parses the lua database and saves the data in a binary format. The website reads the latest version of the binary database once every 10 minutes and keeps it in memory.
I am always looking for more data contributors, the more we have the more accurate the website will be. Using the addon and uploader is extremely easy and only requires a maximum of 2 minutes installation time and is bundled with various ways to run the uploader application without effort.
Extra thanks
Sethzer - Alpha/Beta tester and general supporter with great data contributions since day one
Ateni - Help with website design template
Sixt - Thanks for converting those tables of Enchant and Suffix IDs to something useful!
Medelane - Thanks for the great idea of making donations more visible!
All Donators - Thanks a lot for all the donations! I appreciate the support a lot :)
Like I said, I have nothing to do with this project, I'm just a long time user and acquaintances with the guys that work on it. But what they provide is a truly awesome service that absolutely takes the private server experience to the next level.
Lastly, I want to point out that we are definitely in need of more HORDE data collectors for Nostalrius. It seems that the majority of Feenix players (people that would already have data collection mod) rolled Alliance. So at this time, the RealmPlayers data for Nostalrius is very Alliance heavy. More Horde data collectors will fix this issue and gradually improve the quality of the available data. You can find information about how to become a data collector here: http://realmplayers.com:5555/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=15
