[Permanent Event] The Horde Expedition to Eastern Kingdoms!

At last, the time has come. When the war between the Alliance and the Horde has been more deadly than ever, where massacres against the horde were usual, with tensions in the battlegrounds increased, The Horde's Battlemasters and Leaders have been planning a full-scale assault...

Image

With agressing Alliance Expeditions in Durotar and Barrens, and constant assaults on the horde troops, The Horde has decided to answer to this situation, and start a Campaign, an Expedition to the lands surrounding Stormwind. The existence of The Horde in Azeroth is being threatened, and all citizens of the Horde, from newly registered conscripts to battle-hardened veterans, are called to arms, to take their role into this uprising.

This will be, or at least we will attempt to make it, a permanent event. An alternative pvp-oriented leveling road for players that would like something different than the already existing leveling content, something player-made, more dangerous and exciting, more focused to the war with the alliance and the horde, and therefore more interactive with the situation, where any player can change the tide of things.

Depending on your level, you will be sent to specific zones, to partake specific roles and do other tasks.
It all starts from level 5. We will try to have lvl 60 players to patrol and create strongholds. Grouping with people of your levels during this is recommended, cause of the hostile environment.

The progresses and plans may be changed or upgraded as this event goes on.

For players below lvl 30 in this event, ofcourse there wont be any actual game quests. But personally i believe that quests are not that important in vanilla. They may even slow you down by you focusing on only specific npcs or running long distances for them. We will make gear gain faster, therefore you will be killing things faster, and if you like this event, you will be enjoying it too. We will try to make it somewhat more effective aswell.

Level 5-14 : Eastern Elwynn Forest
Players of this level range will be offered summons (teleportation) upon being recruited into The Campaign.
After that, they will be given specific tasks, player-made "quests". The targets of the quests may be items dropped by regional npcs in massive amounts, with rewards being silver (much more rewarding than quests, effective gain) and once available and prepared in supplies, gear and enchants may be rewards too.

There may be small events regarding invading specific towns, led by officers of the invasion, which will be also rewarded. There are plenty of lvl 10 npcs which you may be finely gain experience from till lvl 14, grouped movement is recommended.

Gathering professions are recommended to be taken before your adventure starts.

There will be lvl 60 horde players as patrols and invaders, which you may ask aid upon having a superior enemy. The lvl 60 players who have the role of invaders, will invade and occupy alliance towns and objectives.

Map Objectives :
Red square : Highly priority enemy
Yellow square : Averagely priority enemy
Green square : Low priority enemy
Pink square : Alliance targets for horde players equivalent to the lvl's zones.
Gray square : Warlock positions for infernal/doomguard summoning.
Bright Red Region : Horde leveler recommended influence
Dark Red Regions : Main targets for higher lvl invaders
Blue Squares : Lower level alliance guards
Purple Squares : Lvl 55 alliance guards

Level 15-29 : Redridge Mountains
Same conditions as for Elwynn. Summons offered at the far west side of elwynn, borders of redridge. Except this time things are getting heated. You can now attack alliance players on sight. There will be players of your lvl, and sometimes higher than your lvl.

Redridge is heavily populated by alliance, you are highly recommended to move in groups. Across the zone there are npcs of various levels. Good equipment/gear will still be provided. The most daring horde infantry will be to kill the targets of the alliance and the alliance militia themselves. Assistance will be offered when required. Leveling can be done all over the map, unlike just 1 side of the area like in elwynn.

Orange Regions are areas that the leveling horde players can occupy. Kill npcs while stopping the alliance from moving towards their objective. Gathering the horde players of that area to 1 or 2 of these regions is more recommended than scattering all over.

Level 30-45 : Stranglethorn Vale
A heated zone with a lot of world pvp action. Recently, alliance has been influencing it. Important objectives like nesingwary camp are to be claimed by all kind of infantry. Various leveled npcs all over the zone, moving towards south as the level increases. Some npcs drop gray items that sell well to the vendor. Get lots of them and you should be closer to getting your mount. Our plans are grouped levelers, killing npcs and alliance on the ways, and doing the already existing quests.

The lvl 60 players will either control nesingwary camp, hunt down lvl 60 players all over the zone, or controlling the duskwood chokepoint for alliance trespassers, and assist players that are part of the expedition on elite quests.

No custom-content plans at the moment for this zone. Map shall be added when we elaborate.

Level 45-60 : Blasted Lands

A zone with a few quests and quite an alliance presence in the area. Levels may be gained mainly through assaulting nethergarde keep, a keep with seemingly squishy alliance lvl 48 guards, which you can take advantage of all the way to lvl 60. Inside the keep there are barracks with lvl 55 elite guards, suitable for grouped assaults. The keep has many buildings with guards, the surrounding area is with guards, and mines have many alliance infantry too.

That's the main idea for now for this zone.

Image

As the player levels up from the day he joins till when he reaches lvl 60, he will be all close to Stormwind, fighting alliance players with his expedition comrades. And in the end, the target is to weaken stormwind. Start assaults to it once in awhile. Hopefully some may continue this tradition and assist new recruits as this goes on

We will upgrade the campaign and make it more rich in custom content. Perhaps involve the other zones, like Westfall, Duskwood and Swamp of Sorrows, and later on Burning Steppes with Searing Gorge. All the zones are close to each other. The participants of this expedition will feel like a close community during this. Assistance when needed can be brought faster aswell for this reason. I believe, with unstoppable morale and motivation, we can get this to work. Nothing is impossible... Such a huge server, perhaps some would enjoy something like this, like myself.

The efforts of starting this expedition begin at Saturday ,16th January, 15:00 server time

Whoever decides to donate to this cause, will be honored in this post.
To clarify, all the gold i carry on me, i plan to use it only on the expedition (rewards, gear for low levels etc.)
except on other goods like vendor food, flights and the usual minimal expenses.

The more funds i have, the more i will be able to constantly reward people and keep this expedition up.
The ones earning rewards are the ones below lvl 30 for now, when affordable, it will be for lvl 30-50s too.
Rewards are ussualy 25-40 silver per task along with profession-made gear. For the Horde!

Izgol : 100g

Doomwalker : 20 greens (lvl 10-30)

Every Horde player who has been questing in STV knows the struggle of lvl 60's ganking. The time has now come to show them their place in the world! And the Alliance has no place in this world!

This is an awesome idea indeed!
Vanilla offers unique World PvP but this goes a lot further - into PvP-RP, the event so rear that it could only be seen in retail RP realms. This guys seem to make a huge afford and favor to all pvp and Vanilla lovers.
If it goes well ( and I hope it will) then we are to witness a legendary campaign similar to Stormwind assault during the First War!

This is very impressive, Voro, I see you've put a lot of planning into this and I like it. But:

You know that vanilla leveling is quite a tedious task, and the higher your level is, the longer it takes to gain another one. Leveling 5-14 in Elwynn alone is totally fine and manageable, and 15-29 in Redridge will certainly work out too, hell, that's where it will actually start to get interesting.

Regarding Stranglethorn Vale, even though it's really big, populated, and there's always war happening in it, spending 15 levels in it probably won't be the best idea. By late 30's leveling starts getting quite a bit longer, so you have to consider providing your lowbies with additional zones to level in that bracket, perhaps elsewhere in Eastern Kingdoms, or perhaps somewhere on homefront. Nothing can replace STV entirely though, that zone represents the purest manifestation of WPvP in this game.

As for Blasted Lands for 45-60, that's a total no-go. The zone itself is barren and uneventful, limiting yourself to grinding guards in one single spot makes it even worse, but worst of all, 45-60 is when gaining levels takes the most time and requires the most exp. It could be said that leveling 1-45 would take about as much time as 45-60. So it would be very important to differentiate the last level bracket as much as possible, perhaps by expanding presence into Plaguelands or fighting along the paths to BRM in Searing Gorge/Burning Steppes.
