It seems that learning the recipe [Schematic: Gyrofreeze Ice Reflector] does not work. You're able to consume the recipe but it doesn't say that you have learnt this recipe, and after it is consumed it does not show in the engineering interface.

Would be nice to get this fixed as i am eager to get the trinket made

Can confirm this.

All schematics are in game, but the reflectors themselves were added in a later content patch. Do not learn the schematics, let them sit in your bank. You won't be using them for a while
