Having big lag issues

by Fuja » Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:16 pm

Hey Nostralius community,

I'm a new player here, just started like 2 days ago and I'm having really big lag issues. Is it because I'm from Germany? Someone in /1 told me it's because there are too many players playing and that the Nostralius devs are currently trying to solve that problem.

I really do like the open pvp in vanilla so I really don't want to play on the pve server but atm i can't play at all. Everything is like 5 seconds delayed, i don't want to think of playing pvp like this when i hit 60.

So, is it 100% sure they will provide a fix for this or should i rather switch to the pve server so i can actually play this game?

Best regards,
Fuja

Yes, the owners of the servers are French and they absolutely HATE Germany. This is why it lags so much from Germany.

What the player in general chat told you would be accurate. The server is serving a player capacity that traditional WoW servers were never meant to handle. Thankfully, the Nostalrius Devs are working on a server clustering project which should greatly reduce the overall lag, even during peak hours. The ETA of such project, unfortunately, remains unknown.
I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

when everything is "like 5 seconds delayed" for you, you should probably check your internet connection

average latency from germany should be 30ms with an additional ~150ms server delay during peak times and ~50ms during off peak

The lag issue isn't as much a problem of location as it is amount of players.

I have a thread here and I would love some positive feedback.
It's about opening a new Vanilla PvP server to alleviate some stress from the current one.
And of course for people who want to start anew on a fresh server like NostPvP was a year ago.

.. in purgatory until a new vanilla pvp realm is opened.
