Horde / Alliance ratio 5 to 1?

Hi, this is not a rant post just really curious.

I finally reached level 30 and went to thousand needles and STV. Took me about 2 hours to complete one quest after 30 corpse runs from ganks. I almost exclusively see horde, and whenever a horde ganks me and I fight back, theres a second horde passing by raping me.

I do enjoy world PVP and understand that it's part of leveling, BUT, where the F*** are all the allies?

I feel they should just close off the horde for now... (no more new characters)

It might seem a bit drastic but then again if this server has 1k allies and 9k horde in a weeks time the server is dead anyway....

1k needles is all horde. dont know about STV, i think you just got unlucky there

If there is that much more Horde, then it must be a complete and utter nightmare levelling on that side pre 30.

If you think about it, there will be more of a horde population in thousand needles and STV because they each have their respective horde FPs and outposts whereas alliance do not. Alliance only has booty bay in STV, that outpost north of the nesingwary camp and that outpost towards the north of thousand needles by feralas I believe. Thousand needles is easily more popular among hordies than alliance.

Horde and alliance overall ratio is very close to 1:1.

But, this is not true regarding one specific zone.

In a generic way, lvl 15-30 zones in Kalimdor have more horde, while zones in Azeroth have more alliance.
It still depends from one area to another. In Ashenvale, for example, it is quite close to even alliance-horde population.

Also, horde seems to be more prompt to PvP

It's also hell on the alliance side, I don't think the Alliance can be that outnumbered, add the fact that Horde seem to like PVP more.

Not sure of the actual server ratio for Horde vs. Alliance currently.
*edit* Oats just did a snap shot of online players "2655 horde players online out of 4961 total."
So that's a 53% Horde 47% Alli (%s rounded) Obviously this is just a snap shot.

But I did feel bad for all the Allies last night up by Nesingwary's camp. There was at least 30 of us Horde in and around the area questing.

Even with the 40's you guys brought in for backup they got mobbed down pretty quickly....I don't think they stayed that long after dying a few times.

read esp. the last pages, posted with fresh (fixed) census data which indicates a slightly more big horde player base than alliance it seems (still need a fixed census data from alliance to back it up).

tl;dr: fix census(posted in the thread above), do a scan, result for me was 2655 horde characters online out of ~4900 players total at the time.
